Erin Childs is the founding Executive Director and current President & CEO of Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio (PBPO), established in 2014. Erin leads the organization’s mission to strengthen nonprofits by providing high-quality pro bono legal services. She oversees PBPO’s strategic direction, operations, and financial management, while also guiding the organization’s legal programs and staff.
In today’s increasingly complex environment, where nonprofits face heightened regulatory scrutiny, employment challenges, and public accountability, Erin is committed to ensuring organizations have the strong legal foundations they need to operate confidently and sustainably. She actively builds the region’s network of skilled volunteer attorneys, expands nonprofit education, and regularly speaks on nonprofit and tax exempt law to ensure organizations can operate confidently, avoid costly risks, and stay focused on the work that matters most.
Erin serves on the Ohio State Bar Association’s Council of Delegates and the Ohio Attorney General’s Nonprofit Advisory Council. She has been an active leader in the Cincinnati Bar community, including service on the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Bar Foundation, and the Steering Committee for the Cincinnati Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (CALL).
A member of Leadership Cincinnati Class 43 and a Business Courier Forty Under 40 honoree, Erin began her legal career at Thompson Hine LLP in Cincinnati. While in private practice, her commitment to service included volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for ProKids. Erin graduated from Saint Louis University and received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
