Volunteer Spotlight: Kevin Clark, Executive Director, Assistant General Council, JPMorgan Chase
Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio is proud to spotlight Kevin Clark, Executive Director and Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase (Chase), who became a PBPO volunteer in 2022. Since then, Kevin has provided nearly 50 hours of pro bono service, encouraged involvement with PBPO among his colleagues, and helped make possible financial support of PBPO from Chase. Kevin puts all his resources into action to help PBPO achieve its mission!
Kevin manages the Business Development and Private Label Captive Finance Legal Group in Chase Auto. The Group counsels business teams that acquire, support, maintain, and expand Chase Auto’s strategic relationships. Kevin was a member of Chase’s Tech, IP, and Privacy Legal Team and served as counsel to the Global Business Document Services corporate function before he joined Chase Auto’s Legal Department in 2017.
Kevin shares his enthusiasm and passion for pro bono work with other Chase attorneys through his service as Co-Chair of Chase’s Pro-Bono Committee in Ohio. Kevin’s commitment to his community is also evident through his volunteer work leading a financial literacy event for a Columbus-based nonprofit that serves students from resource-limited communities.
Kevin’s involvement with PBPO has directly impacted five nonprofits. One of the bigger projects he worked on was for Last Mile Food Rescue, a nonprofit that helps reduce food insecurity by rescuing millions of pounds of food to redistribute to food-insecure people in our region. When faced with a licensing agreement issue with the app-based technology that is critical to their program operations, Last Mile called PBPO and Kevin chose to volunteer on the project. After months of negotiation, Kevin and the PBPO team helped Last Mile reach a beneficial resolution just before the agreement expired. “Without Kevin’s help and PBPO, Last Mile would have been shut down causing the end of our ability to provide food to our community’s food insecure.” – Julie Shifman, Co-Founder of Last Mile Food Rescue.
Kevin spends his free time with his wife, Chelsea, and two sons, Paxton and Grant. The four of them enjoy bike rides, rafting, good food, and laughing. Kevin self identifies his guilty pleasure as Fantasy Football – he has high hopes for his team in 2025!
Why does Kevin volunteer with PBPO?
“PBPO is an outstanding organization that: (a) connects attorneys with amazing nonprofits that serve the community; and (b) enables attorneys to use their existing legal skillset to provide pro bono support. Importantly, PBPO is a pleasure to work with—they are staffed with professional, knowledgeable, and kind people.” (No, we didn’t pay him to say that!)
