Nonprofit Highlight: Therapeutic Riding Institute

Therapeutic Riding Institute, located in Springboro, was founded in 1973 to enhance lives by providing accredited therapeutic equine experiences in a safe, fun and compassionate environment. TRI’s primary program is working with children and adults with disabilities to provide opportunities for physical, emotional and cognitive benefit through therapeutic horseback riding. Their programs also include emotional and behavior management, equine-facilitated psychotherapy, and riding opportunities for active or retired service members and their family members. All programming at TRI is conducted by PATH Intl certified professional staff, utilizing trained volunteers and very special equine partners.

“PBPO stepped in when we needed it the most. We have worked through several projects from working on lease contracts to fundraising policies, logo trademarks and employee manuals. We hold ourselves to a high standard here, but sometimes we just don’t have the time, expertise or funds to navigate legal matters. At these times, PBPO volunteers have stepped in and have always gone above and beyond. From the bottom of our hearts – thank you! Now if we could only get you out to the barn!”

– Christine Pirot, Development Director, TRI
